master scholarship

Five Jamaican students were awarded the Erasmus Mundus Scholarships for 2022. The scholarships provide them funds for two-year master's degree programs in science, technology and engineering at some of Europe's top universities master scholarship.

Marianne Van Steen, a European Union Ambassador to Jamaica and an Erasmus alumna, spoke enthusiastically about the number of Jamaican students studying abroad in 2022. She also said she listened as these scholars spoke about how they plan to use their study abroad experience to help Jamaica and other Caribbean countries by confronting a variety of challenges such as hunger and poverty.

This scholarship is designed to encourage educational enrichment and understanding between cultures by providing a joint master's degree to students studying in different countries. Over thirty Jamaicans have received the scholarships since 2004.

Jamaica is looking for more Jamaicans to accept the opportunities offered by the Erasmus scholarships, which will allow them to study abroad. The scholarship is creating a large number of future scholars, and the Jamaica Mission to the EU said this shows how important the longstanding partnership is between Jamaica and the EU. Furthermore, education and culture are good ways of pursuing growth and action through partnerships with institutions in Kingston, Brussels, Belgium, and other stakeholders.

Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters is open to students at the master's level from anywhere in the world. They must have a BA degree or be in their final year of BA studies and graduate before the Erasmus master’s program begins. Equivalents of the BA level of learning are also accepted if they are officially recognized by national laws and practices in the country awarding the degree. The high-level, integrated Erasmus study programs are created and delivered by a global partnership of higher education institutions and involve institutions from three different countries, two of which must belong to the European Union. These scholarships cover student participation in the program, travel expenses, and their living allowance.
